About Mrs. DeYoung
-
I am very excited to be joining the Waukesha South Staff, Go Blackshirts! I worked for over 10 years as a Health Education teacher in Milwaukee. I was also an Administrator for four years in a Charter school I helped develop. I received my teaching degree from UW-Oshkosh in 2006 and then my Masters in Administration in 2013 from Cardinal Stritch University. I believe that Health Careers are essential to our society and is an ever growing profession that needs great caring individuals. I love working with the great students in the academy. They are eager to lean and creative in their thinking. I currently teach Health Academy 1, 2, and 3. I am also a HOSA advisor.
I grew up just outside of Waukesha but attended Kettle Moraine HS. I gained my passion for Health Education from my mother, a nurse; my father, a teacher; and my sister, a doctor. I now live in Oconomowoc where my husband and I are raising our two young boys. We love to be outdoors as much as possible. I enjoy decorating and being creative. I have taken up Yoga, I enjoy working out and being healthy. We are active in our community and enjoy attending the family friendly events all year round.
