Superintendent Finalists Announced

    Following marketing and recruiting, an online survey and virtual focus groups that resulted in a
    Waukesha New Superintendent Profile, and preliminary interviews of the top six of 25
    candidates that applied, the Waukesha School Board has selected three finalists to continue in
    the Waukesha School District's new superintendent selection process.
    Waukesha Superintendent Finalists

    • Dr. Joseph F. Koch, currently Deputy Superintendent in the Waukesha School District since
      2014, and formerly Director of Special Education/Pupil Services in the Cedarburg School District
      since 2012 and the Denmark/Two Rivers School Districts since 2010.

    • Dr. Cassandra J. Schug, currently Superintendent of the Watertown School District since
      2011, and formerly Principal of West Bend East High School since 2004 and Assistant Principal
      of Nathan Hale High School in West Allis since 2001.

    • Dr. James R. Sebert, currently Superintendent of the Fond du Lac School District since 2009,
      and formerly superintendent of the North Fond du Lac School District since 2006 and principal
      of Webster Stanley Middle School in Oshkosh since 2003.

    Virtual Opportunities to Meet Each of the Finalists
    Each finalist will virtually visit the Waukesha School District next week to meet with
    administrator and teacher groups and then make a virtual Presentation of Self and Approach to
    Implementing the Waukesha New Superintendent Profile followed by facilitated questions
    and answers, and electronic feedback forms. These opportunities will respectively begin at
    4:30 pm, Tuesday, May 26, Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 28 featuring a different
    finalist on each day, and will be accessible to the public in the same way that open virtual
    School Board Meetings are accessible to the public at sdw.waukesha.k12.wi.us

    Next Steps
    Feedback from the virtual opportunities above will be provided to the School Board prior to
    closed session interviews with each finalist, respectively scheduled for Monday, June 1,
    Tuesday, June 2, and Thursday, June 4. Upon completion of these finalist interviews and
    deliberation to determine the top candidate, the School Board is targeting the regular June 10
    School Board meeting for contract approval and the new superintendent starting on July 1.
