Are the providers at the Employee Health Clinic employees of the School District of Waukesha?
No. The Employee Health Clinic is managed by ProHealth Care. They are all members of the Occupational Health Services team.
-
Does the Employee Health Clinic handle prenatal care?
The Employee Health Clinic does not handle prenatal care; however, it does offer well-woman exams.
lf you are seeking prenatal care, the Employee Health Clinic can refer you to the appropriate provider within the UnitedHealthcare network. The Employee Health Clinic can also provide you with information on a prenatal support program offered through UnitedHealthcare and available to pregnant women enrolled in the School District's health plan.
-
What do I do if I have been referred to a specialist?
lf you have been referred to a specialist by an Employee Health Clinic provider, please follow-up with the specialist regarding your care. The Employee Health Clinic would be happy to help you coordinate a visit within the UnitedHealthcare provider network, when needed.

Why am I required to pay a fee for non-preventive visits?
Employees and their dependents who are covered by a School District of Waukesha group medical insurance plan and qualify to participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA), have to pay a small per visit fee for non-preventive services.
This is an IRS requirement for those with an HSA. ln order to contribute to an HSA, an employee must be covered by a Qualified High Deductible Health Plan (QHDHP), like the School District of Waukesha's plans.
Some employees may have a second HSA through a spouse's family plan or may have set up an HSA on their own or do so in the future. This makes it very difficult to identify all employees on the QHDHP that may have an HSA. In order to meet due diligence under the law, the School District of Waukesha requires all members using the Employee Health Clinic to pay a visit fee for non-preventive services.
This fee is considerably less than you would pay for similar services at a physician’s office, urgent care center, or retail clinic (a clinic inside of a grocery store or pharmacy). Preventive care is covered 100% by the plan and you will not be charged for related services.
-
What if I still want to use my primary care physician?
lf you have an existing primary care physician, we encourage you to keep that relationship if you are satisfied with it. The Employee Health Clinic will coordinate care and share results with your primary care provider, if you wish.
If you do not have a primary care provider, you are welcome to use the Employee Health Clinic for your medical needs. We can also help you select and establish care with a local primary care provider within the UnitedHealthcare network.
-
Can district students also use the Employee Health Clinic?
District students are only eligible to use the Employee Health Clinic if they have a parent who is an employee of the School District of Waukesha, they are covered by the district’s medical insurance plan and are 6 or older. In-person or virtual (video) appointments can be scheduled by a child’s parent or legal guardian.
