Welcome to Third Grade!
Third grade will be a year of learning and fun! Our goal is to create an environment where we can learn together.
We hope you're ready for a great year of learning!
I grew up in Williams Bay, WI, and spent my time swimming, boating, reading, biking, rollerblading, playing piano, competing in soccer and volleyball, camping, road tripping, and enjoying the outdoors with my siblings and cousins. I loved school so much that if I wasn't at school, I was often found playing school and convincing my three younger siblings and any neighbors or cousins I could find to be my students. I graduated from Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, MI, with my teaching license, and shortly after I went back to school to get my bilingual license at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater.
My husband, Kevin, and I have been blessed with a beautiful little girl, Meleah, who is three and a half; a wonderful son, Jonah, who is one a half; and an awesome dog, Maya, who loves chasing birds, bunnies, and anything else that will run (or fly) away! As a family, we love to bike, swim, hike, and go camping!
This will be my twelfth year of teaching and my tenth year at Banting! I have been in third grade for nine years and hope to stay for many many more. I love coming to school each day and learning with my bilingual students. No matter how different this school year may be, I am so excited to start it with your children. I can't wait to see what this year has in store for all of us!
I grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin where I spent a lot of time at the Humane Society, biking, running, and working at my dad's coin business. It wasn't until I took Spanish classes that I truly started to love and feel I was successful at school. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a K-12 Spanish teaching license and spent five years teaching K-8 Spanish. I went back to school at Hamline University in St. Paul for a K-6 elementary license. Although Wisconsin is my home, Minnesota is also a place that is dear to my heart.
I spend most of my time with my husband, Matt, and my daughter, Isabela. Isabela is one year old and full of energy. We enjoy going for walks with our dog, Madison and watching Packer games. We love adventure and traveling internationally when we can because visiting different countries helps us to get out of our comfort zones and grow as people and a family.
I feel very priveleged to be able to spend my sixth year of teaching at Banting! I love teaching because I love learning from your talented and creative children. Listening to each student's unique perspective and reasoning makes me love my job each day! Observing diverse students respectfully listen, share, and collaborate with each other is very rewarding for me! I am so excited for this year because I can't wait to get to know each one of you! It is going to be a great year!
