Sra. Carey

  • Hello! My name is Mrs. Carey and I am one of the dual language 5th grade teachers. This is my sixth year at Banting and my 10th year teaching in Waukesha. I love teaching in Waukesha and am so excited to work with the wonderful students and families of Banting!  I previously taught in Milwaukee Public Schools and Central America.  I graduated from UW-Madison (Go Badgers!) with a degree in Elementary Education, and received bilingual certification from UW-Milwaukee.  I completed my Master's of Education with an emphasis in TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Other Language) at Edgewood College in Madison, and an elementary math certificate from Carroll University. I have 5 wonderful children and our dog, Teddy who keep me very busy.  I love sports and spend a lot of my free time with my husband, Jeff, watching our youngest daughter compete in dance. I am also a huge Badgers, Bucks, Brewers and Packers fan.  Although I am a city girl, our family has a farm in Mineral Point, WI where we raise beef cattle and relax whenever we get a chance. I love to read, travel and spend time with my family. My biggest hope for my students is that they become life long learners and are excited to grow every day.
