Science

In our district, we believe science education creates curious citizens who are prepared to solve problems in our ever-changing global society. Science education provides the skills to be critical thinkers, along with a desire to engage in scientific discussion.

Mission and Vision Statement: For the benefit of our students, the local community, and the greater good of humanity and the planet, throughout the elementary science sequence, we need to:

  • Create curious, global citizens who are critical consumers and participate in constructive discourse around current scientific issues.

  • Engage students in design thinking to solve problems, evaluate models, and base decisions on evidence and data.

  • Understand that science learning is a progression and understandings build upon each other.
