3.5 years of Social Science(3.5 Credits)

Why Participate?
Gain the edge in college preparation.
Stand out in the college admissions process
Broaden your intellectual horizons
You have the opportunity to earn credit or advanced standing at most of the nation’s colleges and universities.
All juniors will take the ACT at South.

Four-year college admission can be competitive and selective.
There are six main criteria that university counselors
consider when reviewing an application:
RIGOR OF COURSEWORK: Applicants must complete specific course requirements. In addition, a student who had a more rigorous course load may have a lower GPA than a student with easier coursework. This factor will be taken into account when reviewing transcripts.
ACADEMIC GPA: Admission Counselors look for students who earn good grades and maintain high levels of achievement in challenging coursework.
GRADE TRENDS: The pattern of grades over time is important. An increasingly strong academic record improves the likelihood of admission; a downward trend diminishes it!
CLASS RANK: Admission Counselors request class rank from all applicants and consider rank in their decision. The higher the rank, the better!
TEST SCORES: (ACT or SAT) Students can choose to provide ACT or SAT results.
NON-ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS: Admission Counselors look for students who demonstrate qualities such as leadership and concern for others in the community, achievement in the arts, athletics, and other areas, and diversity in personal background and experience.

Interested in Athletics?
To be prepared for the upcoming seasons, you must complete certain things BEFORE the first day of tryouts or practice. If you have any questions, please call Mrs. Robarge, Athletic Secretary, at (262) 970-3719 or Mr. Schreier, Assistant Principal/Athletic Director, at (262) 970-3712.
How Do I Become Eligible To Participate In Athletics?
All sports participants must have a current WIAA physical card on file in the activities office before they can try out for a team (physicals are good for two years). You can print this form from the Waukesha South website goblackshirts.com/
Students must have at least a 2.0 grade point average and no more than one "F" in Infinite Campus for that quarter.
If you are an incoming freshman, your grades will not be reviewed until the end of the first quarter of the
2023-2024 school year.
Student-athletes must pay the $150.00 athletic fee per athlete. There is no limit to the number of sports or family caps.
No outstanding financial obligations are owed to the school district.
To participate in that season's athletics, online registration must be completed each season (fall, winter, spring).
Any student new to Waukesha South High School (freshman, transfers, or students who were not in a sport during the 2022-2023 school year) must attend a presentation of the Co-Curricular Code in the auditorium at Waukesha South. A parent/guardian is expected to participate in the meeting with their child, sign the Co-Curricular Code Agreement Form, and turn it in after the meeting. No student will be allowed in their
co-curricular activities until this has been done.
(Be sure to address the above requirements before the first day of practice.)
Want to be in a club or activity? Here is what you need…
Watch for announcements on when the club/activity meets and go to the meetings.
If you have any questions, please call Mrs. Robarge, Athletic Secretary, at (262) 970-3719 or Mr. Schreier, Assistant Principal/Athletic Director, at (262) 970-3712. A Code of Conduct form must be signed for clubs. Mr. Schreier will present to the group together with the advisor present.
