Mrs. D'Amato has been proudly serving the Blackshirt community since 2016. Starting in her role as an AP and academies administrator, she dedicated herself to fostering educational opportunities for students. In the summer of 2022 she transitioned into to the Head Principal role at Waukesha South.

Mrs. D'Amato takes pride in all the opportunities our students are afforded at South, WEPA, and WAHP. To include specialized instruction in the areas of health and engineering with industry partnerships, being an AVID National Demonstration school where we are a center for teaching and learning, our incredible music, art, business, dual language, world language, family and consumer science, AP offerings, PLTW course offerings, technical education, and computer science offerings. 

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Maria takes pride in her roles as a mom, wife, daughter, and sister. As a first-generation Sicilian American she brings a unique perspective to her work. Maria's upbringing has instilled in her a strong sense of family and community, which she channels into her leadership approach.

Mr. Schreier joins our administration as the Assistant Principal and Athletic/Activities Director for the 2021-2022 school year. Mr. Schreier taught at South High School from 2009-2021. He taught a variety of math classes including Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC. In addition to teaching math, Mr. Schreier taught our AVID elective for ten years working with each grade level throughout his time with the program. Mr. Schreier proudly worked with four AVID graduating cohorts (2014, 2016, 2018 and 2021).

Mr. Schreier graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2008 with a degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education. He went on to earn his Master’s Degree from UW-Madison in 2019 in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis.

Outside of the classroom, Mr. Schreier coached the tennis programs at South from 2009-2021. In his time with the program, the Blackshirts saw a variety of team and individual success. Mr. Schreier has taught and coached tennis since 2005, teaching at Warhawk Tennis Camp, Waukesha Tennis Association Drill Program, and Moorland Park Tennis Center. He also served on the WIAA Coaches Advisory Committee, the Individual State Seeding Committee, and the Board of the Wisconsin High School Tennis Coaches Association.

Mrs. Gould has been an educator at all grade levels from elementary to high school; she was also an advisor at UW-Milwaukee. She spent five years in Waukesha, mostly at Butler Middle School, before becoming a principal and curriculum in another district. She is happy to be returning to the School District of Waukesha, specifically at South as an Associate Principal! 

With the changes in administrative staff at South, Mrs. Gould's duties are in the process of being confirmed. 

Mrs. Gould graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Spanish. She also earned a Master of Science in Cultural Foundations of Education from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Carroll University. 

Mrs. Gould enjoys spending time with her family. She loves to travel, attend music festivals and concerts, watch and play all types of sports, work in her garden and be outdoors. Her husband is from Belfast, Ireland so they visit their family there whenever possible. Mrs. Gould loves to meet people from all over the world and she is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Mr. Groshek joins our administrative team as an Assistant Principal for the 2022-2023 school year. Mr. Groshek taught at Union Grove High School from 2013-2022, where he taught various social studies classes, including Economics, Government, US and World History. In addition to teaching social studies, Mr. Groshek coached football from 2013-2022 and led school safety development within his district. Mr. Groshek graduated from Lakeland University in 2012 with a Broadfield Social Studies and Secondary Education degree. He earned his Master's Degree from UW-Milwaukee in 2018 in Educational Leadership and Curriculum Development. Outside school, Mr. Groshek flies for the Wisconsin Air National Guard, serving as a mid-air refueling technician. He enjoys traveling and the experiences the military has provided him. Mr. Groshek also enjoys spending time with family and friends.
