Scholarship Opportunities
The Waukesha Education Foundation, Inc is pleased to award over $40,000 in scholarships annually to deserving graduating Seniors. Scholarships are managed by the individual high schools through the Student Services team. Since our inception, we have awarded over a quarter million dollars in scholarships.
Businesses or individuals can create their own scholarship through our Foundation by contacting us.
Possibilities are many, but include:
1) Creating an endowed scholarship fund.
2) Creating a one time or annual pass through scholarship.
3) Donating to an existing scholarship fund.

Once a student creates a profile and takes an eligibility quiz, a list of available awards/scholarships they are eligible for will populate and the student may apply (if applicable) from there.

Our scholarship opportunities change each year. Our 2025 scholarships will be updated once donation commitments are secured and this site will be updated no later than January, 2025 While current scholarship commitments are being updated at this time, the list will not be complete until the application opens. All current listings were our 2024 offerings and the application link will be updated as we secure the funding.
WEF Andrews Mueller Family Scholarship
Description: Awarded to a graduating student from South HS who participated in a non-athletic, school sponsored extracurricular activity and who wants to further their education to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Although not a requirement, preference will be given to students involved in activities related to public speaking, such as debate, drama, FBLA, forensics or mock trial. Student should be attending a 2-4 year college after graduation.

WEF Bonnie Schlais Scholarship Award
Description:
This scholarship will be offered to a student who was enrolled at Randall/Saratoga School for at least three full school years and will be studying education in college. This is a rotational scholarship, one high school each year. For 2024, this scholarship with be awarded to a student at West HS.

WEF Chrys Racinowski Memorial Scholarship
Description: This award is in memory Chrys Racinowski, a Waukesha North alum. It was created by his family to honor his memory. The winner of this award should be a Waukesha North Graduate who is attending a 2 or 4 year technical school or college university. The student must have a GPA of 3.0 or greater. This award will be selected by the student services or scholarship team at North HS.

WEF Clyde Shields Scholarship
Description:
Need to be a student who will be entering elementary or secondary education. The student should rank in the top ¼ of the graduating class. The student should show participation in co-curricular activities and leadership potential. The student should exhibit the qualities that we would like to see in a prospective elementary/secondary teacher. (South HS graduate only) Financial need may be used as a consideration, particularly when other qualifications are similar.

WEF Colonel Harold Mueller Scholarship
Description:
Waukesha South Only. Financial need, 2.0 GPA minimum, one boy & one girl athlete and be involved in at least one athletic sport senior year. Must show involvement in at least one other extra co-curricular activity. Must not have any academic or athletic code violations and financial need will be taken into consideration. One recommendation from a coach, teacher and one co-curricular sponsor and need a copy of acceptance to a college or university. Finally, parental participation in the Booster Club is required.
Amount: $500 each awarded to one male & one female

Description:

WEF Elizabeth & Peter Dianich Scholarship
Description: The Elizabeth & Peter Dianich Scholarship fund was created in 2006 to honor graduating seniors that will be continuing their formal education at an accredited post-secondary institution. One winner from each high school.

WEF Frederick C Christensen Memorial Scholarship

WEF Frisch Writing Scholarship
Description: This scholarship will be presented to one senior based on the submission of a writing portfolio. The portfolio should consist of three original student writings, ranging from poetry to essays to short stories to personal narratives. Two of the submissions may arise from classroom assignments, at least one should be written. Must be a graduate from South HS and have an intention of pursuing a degree which will require strong writing skills.

WEF Hydro-Thermal Corporation Scholarship (NEW FOR 2024)
Description: Awarded to a female student who intends to study engineering at a 4 year university. One winner will be selected from applicants from Waukesha North, Waukesha South and Waukesha West. WEF J.E. Worthington Scholarship
Description: Named for a past Waukesha High School educator and principal. Based the student’s volunteerism, character and need who is planning on pursuing advanced vocational or technical training. This is a rotational scholarship, rotated annually between the 3 high schools. For 2024, this scholarship with be awarded to a student at South HS.

Description: This award is given to a middle school band student each year (one at each of the 4 middle schools) and is selected by the band staff.

Description:

WEF Kalmadge Family Scholarship
This is a one-time, $1000 scholarship that will be awarded to a senior at Waukesha South who has participated in athletics or the fine arts as a club or activity during High School (either through a South High School program OR a club/private program), has held a job for at least part of high school and will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This scholarship was created to recognize students that show a great work ethic and have been able to balance work, school and extracurriculars. It was created in honor of their children, both South alum and UW Madison alum.

WEF Laurie Jean Weitzer Foundation for our Future Healthcare Scholarship
Description:
The Laurie Jean Weitzer Foundation for our Future Healthcare Scholarship was created by the family of Laurie Jean Weitzer, who lost her battle with cancer at the age of 61. This scholarship will be awarded to a student who best exemplifies Laurie's life. Laurie was an inspiration to us all. She demonstrated just what it means to live life to the fullest and how to never give up as she fought for over 8 years with cancer. Laurie's children were graduates of Waukesha South who were actively involved in athletics. This scholarship will be awarded to a student(s) graduating from Waukesha South High School, who has participated in athletics during his/her high school career, and who will be attending a 2 or 4 year college or university, or a program at a technical college and planning on majoring in nursing.

Description: Named for a former School physical education instructor. Based on character, scholastic achievement and participation in high school athletics and physical education activities.

WEF Marla Gloudeman Memorial Award
Description: Named to honor Marla Gloudeman, who lost her battle with cancer in 2022, this award will be awarded to the Waukesha South Senior Softball player with the highest GPA who participated in the Softball program at South HS for all four years (at any level) and will be attending a 2 or 4 year college or university. Marla was the wife of longtime South Girls' Softball Coach Greg Gloudeman.

WEF METRO MLS Scholarships (3)
Metro MLS is pleased to offer 3 $1000 scholarships in 2024: the Tom Curtis Metro MLS Computer Science Scholarship, Terry Donahue Metro MLS Computer Science Scholarship and the Gary Gerhardt Metro MLS Scholarship. Three (3) total scholarships will be awarded, and two (2) of those may give preference to students pursuing a degree in the field of Information Technology or Computer Science. This scholarship is available to students graduating from Waukesha North, Waukesha South or Waukesha West High School who plan to attend an accredited college or university, or a technical program in pursuit of a certificate or 2-year degree, in the areas of Business, Information Technology, or Computer Science. Preference will be given to students who have participated in extracurricular activities (either school-sponsored or through private organizations) and/or held a job for at least part of high school. Students complete one application that will be considered when selecting awards for all three scholarships.

WEF Noah Mroz Memorial Scholarship
Description:
The Noah Mroz Memorial scholarship was created by the Mroz family, in memory of Noah Mroz, South HS class of 2020. This scholarship will be awarded to a student who best honors Noah’s memory and exemplifies his work ethic, character, academic excellence, and special interests.This scholarship will be awarded to a student(s) graduating from Waukesha South High School with at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA, who has participated in athletics or activities (either within South HS or through a private/club organization) during his/her high school career, and who will be attending a 4 year college or university, with a preference given to a student who is attending school to study engineering or who will be attending UW-Madison. Where there is only one scholarship available, preference will be given to a male student.
Amount: The scholarship amount may vary year to year, but will typically be at least $1000. One or more scholarships may be awarded.

WEF Norm Seeling Scholar Athlete Scholarship Award
Description:
This award is named after Norm Seeling, who was a Waukesha business owner and longtime supporter of South athletics and academics. The emphasis of this award is on high athletic and academic achievement, as compared to potential. It goes to both a male and a female student graduating from South HS who participated in athletics and is coach selected.
Amount: One male and one female receive $1200 each

WEF Otto’s Fine Art Academy Scholarship
Description: The Otto's Fine Art Academy Scholarship is a $500 scholarship that was created to provide additional funding to support a student pursuing additional education in the visual arts or art education. The student must be accepted to an accredited four-year university or two-year tech school with intent to pursue a degree in the visual arts or art education. Student must have successfully completed at least 3 art classes at either Waukesha North, South or West High Schools. Student must have maintained an overall GPA of 3.5 or higher.
ONE winner will be selected across all three high schools. Interested students should complete the online application by the deadline. Winners will be notified by his/her high school.

Description:
Recipient must be planning to attend a 2-year or 4-year post-secondary instiution. Must be planning to major in a Nursing program at a Wisconsin College/University. WEF Pittman Family Leadership Scholarship Award NEW FOR 2024!
Description: Awarded to graduating Student Counci Member from Waukesha South HS. Applicant must have been a student council member for a minimum of 2 years, must have held a class officer or Executive Board position and must submit an essay.

WEF Roland Schrupp Art Scholarship
Description: Student must be intent on pursuing higher education in a visual arts related field or art education. Student must demonstrate advanced proficiency in the visual arts. Student must have successfully completed at least 3 art courses at South High School. Student must demonstrate financial need. Student must demonstrate a good overall academic record (minimum 2.75/4.0 scale).
A portfolio will be submitted online for review by the South High School art teachers, which includes: 8 art works done during his/her senior year (at least 2 must be observational drawing pieces.) A written statement answering the following questions:
1. How is a personal vision present in your work?
2. What motivates you to create art?
A transcript of grades from South High School and a letter of acceptance from a higher education institution with a strong art program.

WEF Tech Auntie Scholarship
Description: The Tech Auntie award is a $1000 scholarshp for a student going to a technical school, with priority given to students attending WCTC or MATC. Students should have a GPA or 2.5 or higher, financial need should be considered. One award will be given at each of the high schools whenever possible.
Amount: $1000 each, to be paid at $500 increments, with the second increment paid out after successful completion of first semester. Must maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher during first semester of technical school, and provide technical school transcripts to receive second part of the award. (If program is pass/fail, student must have have passed)

Description: Awarded to one outstanding student graduating from North HS. South HS, West HS or eAchieve Academy to a student who will be attending school to become an educator.

Waukesha Education Foundation (WEF) Scholarship
Description: Student must be graduating from the high school assigned this scholarship in a given year and must be attending a 2 or 4 year university or college. A short essay is required. This is a rotational scholarship and rotates between each high school. For 2024, this scholarship with be awarded to a student at North HS.

WEF Waukesha South AVID Senior Scholarship
Description: This scholarship was created by the Waukesha South AVID Class of 2021 and is dedicated to Mr. Schreier & Phil the Pig: Inspiring positivity and mental toughness, being comfortable with the uncomfortable. This scholarship will be awarded to a senior at Waukesha South who has been part of the AVID Program for at least two years. The scholarship will be awarded to a student that is attending a college, university, or accredited & approved professional / vocational program. The student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above and must display and represent positivity at Waukesha South HS.

WEF Waukesha Women's Club Scholarship
Description: Student is planning on furthering their education either at a 2 or 4 year college/university. Need to live in the city/town of Waukesha. Need a letter of recommendation. Need a copy of a letter of acceptance from the college or university you plan to attend. Awarded to a male OR female student.
Scholarship Committees make final decision on winner. There will be one winner from each high school.

WEF Wendell Florence Memorial Scholarship
Description: This is a one-time, $1000-$2000 scholarship that will be awarded to a senior(s) at Waukesha South who has participated in athletics, comes from a diverse or disadvantaged background (or has a demonstrated record of promoting diversity & inclusion) and has financial need. The scholarship will be awarded to a student that is attending a 2 or 4 year college, university, or trades program, with preference given to applicants attending a technical/trades school. This scholarship has been established by the family of Wendell Florence, a proud alumni of Waukesha South High School.
Amount: There will either be a single $2000 scholarship or two $1000 scholarships, depending on the quality of the applications and the recommendation of the donor.
