Welcome to the School District's Library Media Centers!

We believe that access is central to learning and, in that spirit, we are providing this link to our school library online catalogs. Please feel free to browse our resources and the other online resources that we offer on the district web page. Email Communication

As shared each Fall, the School District of Waukesha sends an email communication to the parent/guardian with information about checked out material. This communication is sent daily until the materials are returned to the library. As part of the student registration process families were notified of the communication and provided with the option to opt out of the communication. At any time, parents/guardians of students up to 8th grade can change their opt out status, by using this link

Additionally, parents/guardians of students in grades 9-11 can opt in and receive a daily communication regarding what books their child has checked out. Have your students identification number and use this link to start getting daily notifications!

Below are a few questions to ask the student about what they are reading:

  • Tell me about the main character/favorite character in the book you are reading.

  • What genre is your book and why did you choose that book?

  • What is the process you take when selecting library materials?

Book Preferences Noted

Parents/Guardians can contact the Library Media Specialist to discuss topics of concern they wish to be noted in our Library system, Destiny. For example, if a child is triggered by ghosts, a note can be made in Destiny that alerts the person checking out the book to the student. For this example a note may say, “Parents request no books on ghosts.” This note will be seen when a child is checking out any physical material. Again, please be sure to opt in to the email communication to monitor what materials are being checked out by your student.

Library staff work with teachers to offer age-appropriate content to all students in the library. However, if a parent/guardian has concerns with the age appropriate content their student has access to, they should contact the school librarian to make note of this in the library system.
