The Teaching and Learning Department is committed to providing support and leadership to all areas that impact student learning.

With our focus on personalized learning and innovative programs, as well as charter schools, magnet schools and academies, we offer multiple opportunities to connect with every student, whether it is in a traditional classroom setting or in a specialized program.

Our innovative approaches to curriculum and technology offer pathways for students to become college, career and community ready.

Facilitating the work of a school district involves all 25 schools following the framework of SAIL teams  (School Administrators Institute for Transformational Leadership) with strategic action plans in place. Each school decides upon its areas of focus based on a deep root cause analysis of its student achievement and growth indicators as well as its needs around adult learning.

By analyzing our data on an ongoing basis, we develop a curriculum that is responsive to achievement trends and personal student needs.
