AFA'S 2019 Teen Scholarship Essay Contest

Alzheimer’s disease doesn’t just affect the people who have been diagnosed with it; their loved ones, caregivers and people of all ages, including children.

Each year, AFA holds a Teens for Alzheimer’s Awareness Scholarship Essay Contest which asks high school seniors to describe how Alzheimer’s disease changed or impacted their lives. Whether they’ve had a loved one with the disease, volunteered or worked as a caretaker or are just passionate about the cause, the next generation of leaders in the fight against Alzheimer’s have a story to tell.  We want to hear yours!

All current high school seniors who will be attending an accredited college/university within one year of the award date are welcome to enter the competition. Essays must be a maximum of 1,500 words.

Award Amount: The grand prize is a $5,000 college scholarship.  Prizes will also be awarded for first runner-up ($2,500 scholarship), second runner-up ($1,500 scholarship), third runner-up ($1,000 scholarship), fourth runner-up ($750 scholarship) and honorable mention ($500 scholarship).
