Early Childhood screening is provided to children 3-5 years old living in the School District of Waukesha. Our Child Find screening tool, The Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ-3) is available to anyone desiring information about any area of development for their child. Additionally, a face-to-face screening can be scheduled. Information is collected about the child’s developmental skills in any of the following areas: speech/language, motor, cognitive, self-care and social/emotional skills. Information is collected through parent interviews, observations, and interactions with a child in play-based activities. The screening helps to identify if a possible delay may exist. If a possible developmental delay is identified, a referral for a special education evaluation may be made.
