Roland Schrupp Art Scholarship
Description:
Student must be intent on pursuing higher education in a visual arts related field or art education. Student must demonstrate advanced proficiency in the visual arts. Student must have successfully completed at least 3 art courses at South High School. Student must demonstrate financial need. Student must demonstrate a good overall academic record (minimum 2.75/4.0 scale).
Procedure for Application:
Student must submit a portfolio to the South High School art teachers by the end of May, which includes: 8 art works done during his/her senior year (at least 2 must be observational drawing pieces. A written statement answering the following questions:
1. How is a personal vision present in your work?
2. What motivates you to create art?
A transcript of grades from South High School and a letter of acceptance from a higher education institution with a strong art program.
This Scholarship is not available until January.
Amount: One award in the amount of $800 or two may be awarded at $400.
