The Waukesha South Boys Cross Country team are Champs! The boys take first at the Lake Country Lutheran Invite at Nashotah Park on this 80 degree day. South was led by senior Oscar Medina (17:04) and freshman Henri Pludeman (17:12) who took 2nd and 3rd place overall. Other medal winners include Zach Ploszaj (17:57), George Gapinski (18:00), and Jack Windisch (18:09) who came together to finish 8th, 9th and 10th. Sophomores Chase Di Nardo (19:42) and Louis Bedard (19:51) rounded out the day for the Blackshirts. Let's hear it for our boys soccer program who picked up a huge 2-1 conference win over New Berlin West to kick off Homecoming week. New Berlin scored first, but senior Jaxon Ziegler (Angel Valadez) responded with the equalizer. In the 78th minute, senior Gael Diaz (Ziegler) scored the game winner. Congrats to our Girls Tennis team who got a 4-3 conference win over Pius last night at Heyer Park! Blackshirts sweep doubles and pick up big at 4 singles.
1 doubles : Kate McMahon and Josie Chada won 6-0, 6-1 .
2 doubles: Rowan Jesmok and Hannah Glaser won 6-4, 3-6, 10-5
3 doubles: Gabby Olivares and Vanessa Catalan won 6-1, 6-1
4 singles: Leila Saifutdinova won 6-3, 6-2.
Also instrumental in the team win were Anna Schulte, Danica Relich, and Lily Schultz at 1, 2 and 3 singles.

Congrats to our Boys and Girls Cross Country teams who raced at the St Catherine's Angels Invite on Saturday.
Our boys team took home a top 10 finish at the 42 school invite. Junior Oscar Medina led the team with a 17:29 finish. Oscar was followed by Zach Ploszaj (17:51), Henri Pludeman (18:03), George Gapinski (18:25), Chase Di Nardo (20:31), Hans Wendt (20:32) and Louie Bedard (20:44).
The girls team was led by Piper Wagner with a time of 23:43, followed by Alexandra Ploszaj (23:47), Charlotte Range (26:12), Parvati Wagner (26:50), Melanie Bentfield (27:09) and Talia Truebenbach (27:43).
The Blackshirt Cross Country Teams are back in action next Saturday at the Midwest Invitational in Janesville! #blackshirtpride #southside
