and out! Spend Friday, February 13 exploring night myths and superstitions, enjoy the

Planetarium show - Cosmic Questions: Answers & Mysteries, listen to a presentation by

Michelle Thaller, former Assistant Director for Science Communication at NASA

Goddard Space Flight Center, stroll a 0.4 mile candlelit Discovery Trail, view the night

sky with telescopes, try out snowshoes (snow cover and trails permitting). Warm up

inside with beverages and snacks available for purchase from Mama D's and enjoy

stories around the indoor "fire" and outside around the real fire. Pre-registration

recommended as space is limited $6 per person or free for children 2 and under,

Friends of Retzer Nature Center and Friends of the Horwitz DeRemer Planetarium.

6:15pm-7pm and 8:15-9pm Michelle Thaller presentation on Black holes: Monsters and Myths- Black holes seem like something out of a horror story. A collapsed area of the universe where even space and time do not exist that can swallow any amount of material -even an entire galaxy? Could they possibly be real? Yes. They are real. But they may not be the monsters you imagine. Find out what else is lurking in the darkness of space and what distant objects we are even more worried about.
