Waukesha STEM Academy Enrollment Timeline

December 2, 2024 8 am: STEM Lottery Application Period opened. STEM Requires an online application for ALL applicants (including incoming Kindergarten siblings) and attendance at an informational tour for new STEM Families*.

Complete online application (available at https://sdw.waukesha.k12.wi.us/o/stemes/page/about-us or https://sdw.waukesha.k12.wi.us/o/saratoga) and attend an informational tour (Dates and times below)

January 8, 2025 3:00 PM: STEM Lottery Application period closed

If the number of in-district applicants during the Lottery Application Period exceeds the available open seats, a lottery drawing will be held. Only those with an application and tour complete by January 8th will be included in the lottery drawing. NOTE: LAST OPPORTUNITIES TO TOUR ARE JANUARY 8th. Additional tours will not be available for the lottery window.

Out of District applicants will be automatically placed on a STEM wait list until accepted to the School District of Waukesha

January 20, 2025: Lottery Drawings were held Applicant Attendance not required. Drawings held for any sections where applications exceed open seats.

Applicants will be notified of their acceptance or wait list position/status on January 21st. Accepted families have 5 business days from notification to accept the seat.

February 5, 2025 : Out of District Open Enrollment Applications Open: STEM Enrollment Application re-opens

Apply online and attend an informational tour to be placed on the waiting list or offered a remaining seat (if available). (Out of District applicants will be automatically placed on a STEM wait list until accepted to the School District of Waukesha)

2nd Day of School 2025 (September 3, 2025): Wait List Expires Interested students can reapply during the next Lottery Enrollment Period (February 2026)

*For families new to the STEM campus they are applying to (i.e. no students currently attending) Parent/Guardian attendance at one informational tour is required. Tour must be of the campus you are applying for.

Logistics to Remember When Considering STEM:

STEM Families must provide their own transportation. The School District of Waukesha does not provide bussing to or from either Waukesha STEM Academy campus.

Our Elementary School Day hours are earlier than other SDW elementary schools. Instructional time is 7:50 am to 2:50 pm. Students cannot be dropped off earlier than 7:40 am (7:30 for breakfast) and must be picked up promptly at 2:50 pm.
