Deep in the ground yesterday.....french fries today! EE Teacher Sue B. and our Summer campers are taking FRESH food from our Learning Garden to DELICIOUS levels!

Last week's Summer campers packed so much outdoor fun into their days with us, it flew by in a flash of smiles and laughter!

Our Summer Campers and EE Teacher Sue are participating in Wisconsin's Cucumber Crunch program , which promotes and celebrates summer farm to school initiatives! 10 minutes ago, these cucumbers were in our EE Learning garden. Can't get any fresher than that! @WisconsinDPI

Week 1 of Summer Camp is in the books! Wow, what a fun week of exploration & enjoying all the gifts of the Fox River Sanctuary. Weaving, gardening, river exploration, obstacle courses, garden-to-plate pizzas, hikes and live animals - the students enjoyed it all!

Wishing you all the best as you continue on your journey to make this World a better place, Emma! Your EE family and all those within SDW (and beyond!) will miss you incredibly at EB Shurts. We send you off with gratitude in our hearts for all you've done to make this program amazing the last 8 years!

Summer is here! We wrapped up an incredible year of EE programming and invite you to check out our final newsletter of the 2023-24 school year!

Thank you to the volunteers from Generac who gave the walkway and ramp to our pier a much needed upgrade! We appreciate you!

What an incredibly successful first year of Embedded Agriculture in our SDW High Schools. We are excited to see what is in store for our students next year!

What an exciting way to wrap up a successful first year of Embedded Ag, with a delicious meal shared by community partners who came to learn more about the successful collaboration of FACS classes, EE and hydroponics. Our students are learning from, experiencing and enjoying this partnership so much more than we could have ever expected. And we are just getting started!

It's been an exciting first year of Embedded Ag! To showcase the success, North High School's Chef Foods classes prepared a delicious lunch for our community partners!

Feeling Spring-y? We are too! Check out what's happening at EE!

May you enjoy, celebrate and protect the wonder Mother Nature provides, today and every day! Happy Earth Day!

Mark your calendar for Monday April 8th - it's the solar eclipse! Solar eclipses happen when the moon passes between the sun and Earth, blocking the sun in a narrow path across the planet. Here in WI we will see up to 90% eclipse (if it’s not cloudy) between 12:50-2:05pm. Grab a pair of safe viewing glasses or make your own and enjoy the view. We can't wait!
Learn more about the eclipse and activities here:

North High School's Chef Foods classes used fresh Fork Farms ingredients in their Farm to Table recipe projects this week. Chives, parsley, basil, oregano, cilantro, onions, lettuce and kale were all grown from seed and used in their chosen recipes. Each forkful was incredible!

Weaving, gearing up for Spring programming, never a dull moment with this group. Check out what EE is up to in our Spring newsletter!

The accomplishments of the Embedded Ag program were on display at a luncheon planned and executed entirely by FACS students at Waukesha South today. Erica Yoss and Mollie Haubenschild have grown this program over the last year from a "seed of an idea", and had many successes to share with SDW Board members, educators and staff, WEF members and community partners. Kudos to all involved!

Franklin has been wowing students (and adults!) in our district since 1976 and by the looks of the 4K students at Bethesda last week, he's still pretty good at it!
It's Franklin's world, we just live in it.
