The Draconids are here! For North America the best time to look is after the sky is fully dark (after 7:38 PM) the night of Oct. 8. By the time the Moon rises on October 9 (at 2:03 AM) the radiant will be low on the northern horizon, so some meteors will be blocked by the Earth.

World Space Week starts today! It's celebrated yearly from Oct. 4-10, & during this time, we witness 1000's of organizations uniting to commemorate the contributions & advancements of space exploration. WSW was record-breaking last year (11,200 events across 87 nations).


Have you signed up for Sunset Meditation on Wednesday yet? This evening begins at 6:30pm with a peaceful planetarium show followed by an evening hike. If it's clear, we'll set up a telescope to highlight some cool things happening at night. $10 per person. Hope you will join us!

Retzer's Apple Harvest Festival is Saturday! @hdplanetarium featured show is "Totality!" It is an educational show that will give you a glimpse of what to expect during the great solar eclipse on 4-8-24. Tickets are $3 per person & shows will begin every 30 min. at 9:00am.

Planetarium History Fact..... on this date in 1923...the first 'Mark 1' planetarium projector was fully operational for the first time, at the Zeiss factory in Jena, Germany.
