Time is running out to view some of our beloved winter constellations. The stars famous for appearing in the wintertime sky are now setting soon after sunset these days, as spring gets well and truly underway. Look west about an hour after sunset tonight to catch them.

The large constellation Virgo is above the eastern horizon after sunset tonight. Virgo’s brightest star is Spica, which shines at magnitude 1, is actually a binary pair. The two stars are too close to split and orbit each other in just 4 days. SOURCE: astronomy.com

For the next few mornings, Mars & Saturn will be visible, but very low in the E-SE, so you’ll need a very clear view of the horizon. And, they'll be just above a slim, waning crescent Moon. The 2 planets are almost identical in brightness this month & only about 1 degree apart.
