William Herschel's birthday today- Herschel was a German-British astronomer & composer. He often collaborated with his younger sister & fellow astronomer Caroline Herschel. Some of his accomplishments are the discovery of Uranus & infrared radiation, deep space surveys, etc.!


Our last Fall Sunset Meditation with Retzer is tomorrow evening at 6:00pm! If you haven't visited this fall, this would be a great opportunity to enjoy a beautiful fall evening. Planetarium show starts at 6pm followed by a evening hike with a Retzer naturalist.


"In case you didn't know, the moon reaches the new moon phase tonight! Therefore, if the weather cooperates, it would be an ideal night for stargazing!
You don't NEED to use anything fancy to see some cool stuff, just your eyes, a sky map/star finder, and some patience!

If you get up before morning twilight on 11-9, look low in the E-SE skies to see a conjunction of Venus & the waning crescent Moon. A conjunction occurs when the 2 celestial objects appear very close to each other in the sky.
