Our Mission & Vision

Nurturing Minds, Fostering Wellness. A Commitment to Mental Health in Waukesha Schools. SDW Cares.

In 2023, Waukesha South had a dream to help further break down mental health stigmas, promote mental wellness, and have open conversations by providing the tools necessary for our students to thrive emotionally and academically. With vast mental health and mental wellness resources available to students and SDW families, we wanted to focus on streamlining them into one powerful resource- SDW Cares. The United Way and Empowering Minds helped realize that dream with a grant totaling $100,000 for the next two years (2024-2025). The goal is for SDW Cares to serve as a beacon of resources for Waukesha area students and their families seeking guidance on their mental health and wellness journey. We recognize the crucial distinction between mental health and mental wellness. We prioritize both and aim to foster a culture where nurturing minds and fostering mental wellness are as integral as academic success and a brighter future. Because of that, they wanted to ensure all Waukesha area students and families could benefit from using SDW Cares.
