Smile! A set of DSLR cameras were added to the art department at North High School thanks to a WEF grant. The cameras allow students to experiment with different settings and learn how professional photography equipment functions. #WEFGrantsWorkED

One of the district wide programs that implemented a May 2023 grant is the Horwitz-DeRemer Planetarium. With this project, students have been able to observe the sun through a special telescope, offering a unique and fun extension to their astronomy lessons. #WEFGrantsWorkED

Students at Hawthorne Elementary School have participated in empowerment groups to develop their skills as they seek to be leaders in and outside of the classroom. This May 2023 grant has fostered several positive and engaging learning experiences. #WEFGrantsWorkED

WEF is glad to see that a grant has boosted fitness interest for Hillcrest Elementary students through the use of activity trackers during gym class. The trackers are one way that students are more informed about their movement and steps taken. #WEFGrantsWorkED

Bread proofers have been a wonderful addition to the culinary curriculum at North High School. Thanks to a WEF grant awarded in May 2023, students have experimented with making yogurt and they are looking forward to making bread this school year. #WEFGrantsWorkED

Our next May 2023 grant feature is from East High School. Suzanne’s project enabled new technology to be brought into the classroom, providing students with an opportunity to learn a new piece of software and about 3D designs. #WEFGrantsWorkED
